PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The formulation of Probenat® GZ has been specially designed to meet the needs of pregnant women, with a combination of essential micronutrients during pregnancy and substances that support the normal function of the maternal and fetal vascular system.
L-Arginine and L-Citrulline are amino acids involved in the cyclical process of synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), a molecule naturally produced by our body, important in maintaining the integrity of the endothelium (tissue that lines the internal surface of blood vessels). In fact, Nitric oxide is involved in the processes of vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation.
The dry extract of Willow, with its Salicin content, is useful for contrasting localized states of tension. Furthermore, once Salicin is taken, it is metabolized into salicylic acid, a substance known for its antiplatelet aggregation properties.
Magnesium (Magshape®), Iodine and Vitamins B12 and C contribute to normal energy metabolism. Folate (QUATREFOLIC® contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. Magnesium, folate and Vitamins C and B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Folate and Vitamins D and B12 intervene in the cell division process. Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Hypertension in pregnancy
Blood pressure-related pathologies during pregnancy represent one of the most common health problems with possible adverse events for both the mother and the fetus/newborn. For this reason, monitoring, especially in future mothers with risk factors, is an important prevention action. To diagnose hypertension during pregnancy, it is advisable to undergo regular blood pressure measurements during monthly medical visits.
Often “hypertension in pregnancy” is equivalent to indicating a syndrome that can arise in the second half of pregnancy itself and which goes by the name of “GESTOSIS”. The latter is in fact characterized, in its most complete clinical expression, by 3 main symptoms which are: Edema, Proteinuria and Hypertension (EPH). In fact, in its most complete sense, polysymptomatic gestosis (with all three symptoms) is also called as (EPH, Edema, Proteinuria, Hypertension). Infatti nella sua accezione più completa, la gestosi polisintomatica (cioè con tutti e tre i sintomi) viene anche indicata come gestosi EPH.
PROBENAT® GZ represents the unique supplement during pregnancy, with an association of essential micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) during gestation and substances that support the normal function of the maternal and fetal vascular system.
Among its ingredients there are:
- L-Arginine e L-Citrulline: amino acids involved in the cyclic process of synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), an important molecule in maintaining the integrity of the endothelium (tissue that lines the internal surface of blood vessels). In fact, Nitric oxide is involved in the processes of vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation.
- Willow extract, with its Salicin content, reduces platelet aggregation.
- Magnesium:mineral with muscle relaxant properties. It contributes to normal muscle function, normal energy metabolism and electrolyte balance.
The Magnesium present in PROBENAT®GZ is the innovative patent MAGSHAPE® microcapsules, a micronized and microencapsulated magnesium. This new technology gives Magnesium high absorption and high bioavailability compared to other forms of Magnesium.
- Folate:contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. Supplementary intake of folic acid increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus (the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplementary intake of folic acid of 400 μg for at least one month before and up to three months after conception).
Folic acid as such is not active, but is the precursor of the active form 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). The folate present in Probenat® GZ is the innovative patent QUATREFOLIC® (glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate), the active form of folic acid.
- Iodine:essential mineral for the proper functioning and health of the thyroid gland.
- Vitamin C & D: useful vitamins to prevent placental oxidative stress.
- Vitamin B12: water-soluble vitamin that contributes to normal energy metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Blood pressure level is one of the most important indicators of health during pregnancy, yet it is not always sufficiently monitored. Blood pressure during pregnancy should be monitored frequently, even when there have never been problems before. To be within the norm, the minimum (diastolic) and maximum (systolic) pressure values must remain below 90 and 140 mmHg. If systolic values >180 mmHg and/or diastolic values >100 mmHg occur during monitoring, you should contact your gynecologist and/or cardiologist to quickly reduce blood pressure and set the most appropriate therapy. What every pregnant woman should do in order to minimize the possibility of developing a hypertensive condition is to take care of herself and her baby with simple behavioural rules:
- Use salt in moderation in the diet. Therefore, avoid ready-to-eat foods or foods containing them large quantities (e.g. cheese);
- Avoid the consumption of coffee and alcohol;
- Do moderate physical activity (at least 150 minutes a week), unless otherwise indicated by the gynecologist;
- Avoid stressful conditions;
- Undergo clinical checks to monitor fetal well-being.
