PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Pizetalen® is an anhydrous ointment with emollient, soothing and restorative properties to manage all the discomforts that follow the alteration of the skin and mucous membranes (genital and perianal), both in adults and children. It forms a protective film that restores the natural hydro-lipid balance of the skin and mucosal barrier, counteracting its desquamation and promoting its regeneration.
The formula based on lipids and plant extracts makes Pizetalen® suitable both in the presence of dry or reddened skin due to rashes, insect bites, laser and/or pulsed light treatments, tattoos, etc., and to protect and soothe irritated baby skin by the occlusive effect of diapers. Also useful in case of irritation, dryness and itching of the female and male genital and perianal mucosa (e.g. vulvar dystrophy, Lichen Sclerosus, balanitis and balanoposthitis).
INGREDIENTS
Ointment based on rice bran oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, beeswax, sunflower seed oil, cocoa butter, olive oil, vitamin E, extracts of chamomile, calendula, mallow and St. John’s wort.

Our skin performs different functions: the first and most important is that it constitutes a barrier between the inside of the organism and the external environment. Structurally, much of the barrier function resides in the horny layer of the skin, which constitutes the outermost layer of the epidermis and regulates transepidermal water loss (TEWL), blocks the penetration of potentially harmful substances and protects against injury and abrasion. Keratinocytes and the lipid material they contain are essential for this barrier function. However, in non-physiological conditions, the passage of unwanted substances can occur. The alteration of the barrier leads to the onset of dermopathies; therefore, attention must also be paid to incorrect daily practices, such as repeated washing or works that involve the direct use of detergents or aggressive detergents. An alteration of the skin barrier exposes any person to the risk of developing itching, irritation, redness and even an infection. Rubbing, which can give immediate relief (but a false relief!), instead creates the chain of the above conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to provide with the application of a soothing and emollient cream, once or twice a day in the affected area, to restore the correct and physiological skin barrier.
Industrial creams often have an aggressive action that worsens the conditions of already dry skin, exposing it more to risks due to external agents. Instead, Pizetalen® is an ointment based on ingredients of natural origin, rich in vegetable lipids. These products rarely cause allergies and irritations because they do not contain aggressive chemicals, which are present in traditional cosmetics. That is why choosing natural remedies like Pizetalen® can prove to be a decisive factor in getting rid of the problems quickly.
The action and beneficial effects of the individual components present in the product:
Rice bran oil has emollient and sebum-restoring properties. The presence of gamma-oryzanol also gives the oil antioxidant properties, protective against skin photo-aging.
Shea butter has nourishing, sunscreen and elasticising properties.
Sweet almond oil has nourishing, elasticising and emollient properties for the treatment of dry and reddened skin.
Beeswax has emollient and film-forming properties.
Sunflower seed oil, rich in linoleic and oleic acids, vitamins and minerals, has a nourishing and protective action on the skin.
Cocoa butter has emollient and protective properties thanks to the high amount of fat present.
Olive oil acts as an emollient, softener and anti-inflammatory. The composition of the triglyceride fats of olive oil is very similar to the sebum of the skin and among the natural lipids it is the one with the greatest affinity for the lipid layer of our skin.
Vitamin E acetate, in addition to protecting the skin from UV rays (antioxidant), keeps the skin smooth and soft, thanks to its contribution in limiting the loss of water from the epidermis and preserving skin hydration.
Chamomile extract has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. In cosmetics it is used for its soothing effect on the skin and for its antiseptic properties. In particular, it contains bisabolol which helps to soften the skin.
Calendula extract has a soothing, emollient, anti-reddening action and counteracts local inflammatory phenomena.
Mallow extract has film-forming, soothing and emollient properties. particularly useful in case of irritation and itching. It also has antioxidant properties and increases skin elasticity.
St. John’s wort extract has emollient, soothing and restorative properties, helping the skin to react to the aggressions it has suffered.
